Passive Speed Sensor
The model A260#532 is designed for the hydraulic APU used on the Space Shuttle. The sensor monitors a shaft speed of 70,000+ RPM. Sensor speed information is used to regulate the fuel powering the APU so it can maintain an optimum operating speed. The sensor must survive the extreme cold of space, the extreme heat generated while the APU is operating and the shock and vibration associated with launch and re-entry.
